Publication of our booklet: The 4 Colors of the Breastplate and the 4 Virtues of the Messiah – available on the tab productions here

Aaron’s breastplate is part of the Jewish religious heritage. Measuring approximately 22 cm X 22 cm, it was worn on the breast of the high priest and studded with 12 precious and semi-precious stones engraved with the names of the 12 tribes of Israel, descended from the 12 sons of Jacob. God instructed Moses how to make the breastplate, along with the other priestly garments (Exodus 28). At the very beginning of Biblical history, God appointed Israel to reveal him to the world (Exodus 19:5-6), despite the fact that the nation would, for a time, reject his Messiah (which gave non-Jews access to salvation). However, God must carry out his final plans for his people. Many Jewish writings from the beginnings of Judaism and its development throughout Old Testament times point to the central character of the Bible and the history of the world: Jesus Christ! The high priest himself, with all of the symbolism contained in his garments and breastplate, was a remarkable prophetic figure. He bears his people on his heart and shoulders. He sees them as precious stones. At first, these referred to Israel, but the New Testament documents the transition to Judeo-Christianity, which reveals Jesus Christ in the fullness of his priestly office (Letter to Hebrews).
